About Us - Kreations by Karla

        A little over one year ago I was laid off by a Boston law firm as a result of a merger.  My experience has been in human resources working in both small and larger law firms.  I enjoyed it very much because no day was ever the same; the personalities were unusual to say the least; therefore, everyday was a challenge.  

        It just so happened when I was laid off, my father was very ill with lung cancer so I got to spend a lot of time with him and I am thank ful for that.  When his condition became worse, I could not concentrate long enough to read a book but had to do something to try to relax myself.  That’s when I began KREATING things. 

 I started knitting scarves - and really enjoyed mixing different and sometimes unusual yarns.  I gave a friend of mine, who is a nurse, one of my scarves for Christmas and, from that moment on, began receiving orders for my scarves.  Next, I began crocheting flip flops and became addicted - I bought every color and style flip flop I could find and mixed different colored yarns  - soon I had about 70 pairs in all sizes and colors.  They were a big hit here on Cape Cod and I sent them to friends around the country. 

It’s fun to kreate these flip flops in different colors and yarns, many of which end up being one-of-a-kind.  I enjoy wearing things that I don’t see on other people.   I love to buy unusual things for my home and myself that I don’t see everywhere else.

        In the past I decorated children’s stools for my two nieces and stenciled serving trays for various friends.  My brother has encouraged me to continue making those items for sale and suggested I kreate this website to do so.
