Bandannies

        I recently took a trip to Phoenix for a long weekend and while walking down the street one day, my friend said, “Did you see that woman’s flip flops?”  I said I did not and asked what they looked like.  She said it looked like they were tied with bandanas.  When I got home I got some bandanas, cut them in strips and began tying them on the flip flop.  I knotted them, trimmed them and twisted them until they looked the way I wanted and asked my friend if that’s what they looked like - She said they were similar.

        Later that month my brother sent me an article he saw in his local newspaper about bandana flip flops for children - the directions were to cut the bandanas in strips, one inch by 6 inches, using pinking shears and tie them onto the flip flops.  They were very cute but looked more like slippers I thought.  Mine are a little different and, while some people may prefer to use them as slippers, most of my customers buy them to go with certain outfits or swimsuits.

        However you choose to make them and/or wear them, I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I do.  My favorite order is - MAKE IT FUNKY!
